Frei aus dem Mailänder Dialekt übersetzt: Ein Terrakotta Topf, in den Kinder durch einen Schlitz Geld – das sie sparen wollen – einwerfen. Sie können ihn nur leeren, wenn sie ihn zerbrechen.
Free translation form die Milanese dialect: A pot made of terracotta, that children use to put their savings in. They can only empty it by breaking it. (i.e. piggy bank)
Unser Salvadanee ist ein Chalet in den Bergen. Es hat seinen Namen von meiner Grossmutter erhalten, die in Mailand aufgewachsen ist. Beim ersten Blick auf das Haus hat sie gesagt: Das ist ja ein Salvadanee!
Our Salvadanee is a Chalet in the mountains of Switzerland. It got named by my grandmother who grew up in Milan. When she had her first look at the house she exclaimed: Hey, this looks like a Salvadanee!
